OUR VISION: A Nation Free of Blindness

Founded in 1997 (Reg.No.20189/153/1996-97), Bhoomika NGO traces its origins to a pivotal moment in history—the aftermath of the catastrophic Super Cyclone of 1999. With over 10,000 lives lost and millions displaced, the urgency of the situation ignited the founding members of Bhoomika into action.

From its inception, Bhoomika was driven by a resolute commitment to alleviate suffering and foster sustainable livelihoods. In the wake of such devastation, the organization emerged as a beacon of hope, dedicated to facilitating meaningful change in the lives of those it served.

Since those early days, Bhoomika has evolved and expanded its reach, yet its core values remain unwavering. With steadfast determination, Bhoomika continues to make strides towards a future where every individual can lead a life of dignity and opportunity

Cataract Screening

Bhoomika NGO's cataract screening camps in Odisha since 2009 offer free eye exams, diagnose cataracts, and ensure timely treatment. Their efforts have significantly improved eye care access in rural areas, empowering communities and enhancing quality of life.

Diabetic Retinopathy Camps

Bhoomika launches diabetic retinopathy screening camps to detect early signs of vision impairment among diabetic patients. These camps aim to prevent vision loss by offering timely diagnosis and treatment, promoting eye health awareness, and ensuring accessibility to underserved communities.

Cataract Surgeries

Bhoomika embarks on a transformative mission to conduct 100,000 free cataract surgeries annually. Identifying potential candidates, we transport them to specialized operating centers for surgery, ensuring accessibility. Post-surgery, we provide free medication, spectacles, and doorstep delivery, ensuring holistic care and restoring vision with compassion.

Medicine & Spectacles Distribution

Bhoomika is dedicated to enhancing access to eyecare for all. We provide free distribution of medicines and spectacles, ensuring affordability and availability. Additionally, our initiative includes free transportation for patients to and from eyecare facilities, removing barriers and ensuring comprehensive care for all.

School Eye Screening Programme

Bhoomika's school eye screening programme has touched the lives of over 200,000 children to date. We provide free spectacles for refractive error correction and distribute essential medicines, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to see clearly and thrive in their educational journey.

Free Transportation and Food

Bhoomika goes the extra mile in patient care. We offer free transportation to and from camp sites, along with complimentary meals. Post-surgery, we ensure patients are safely transported back home, providing comfort and support throughout their journey towards better vision and health.
